Question: How do i use the debug mode in star wars battlefront?

I'm new to trying to use the debug modes on games and just wandering what they are and how to manipulate them and if I need any software to do it. If you know how to do it please leave detailed instructions on how to do it. I want to know how to use the debug mode for the PS2 and if i need any software to do it with. And how to do it. You can not do that in the PS2 unless you are the game developer.
