Question: Im stuck on lego star wars the complete saga help!!! episode 3 chancellor in peril?

I'm stuck in the section where it's Obi- Wan, Anakin, Palpatine and R2- D2 after you run from the falling elevator. You jump over to a ledge where you have to Force some steam vents off you get studs. Then you switch to R2 and turn off one using the console. But there is a large beam I guess that the jedis can jump over but R2 can't. How do you get R2 to follow the other characters? I've tried flying over it but that doesn't work. I switched to one of the others, jumped over and waited by the door for R2 to make his way over by himself like he usually does. And you need R2 to open the door so.....any ideas?

There is a plate on the right of r-2 d-2 if you hit it it turns into a ramp
